Professional Training

The internship is compulsory and expected to be completed within the bachelor and master programme on an external practical placement at an company or firm, or on a placement at a higher educational institution. [LXXX. Higher Education Law 147. § 36] You will carry out the work practice in any semester after you have fulfilled all the curriculum requirements.

The duration (before september 2014) will be one 240 hours in BSc and 160 hours in MSc programs.

Those students who have been admitted to the University of Debrecen after september 2014 are obliged to fulfil 320 hours in BSc and 240 hours in MSc programs.

You can complete the internship in your home country too.

The precondition for applying to internship for

  • Computer Science BSc
    High level programming languages 2, Database Systems
  • Business informatics BSc
    High level programming languages 2, Accounting 1,
  • Computer Science Engineering BSc
    High level programming languages 2, Network architecture.
  • All MSc students (Computer Science Msc and Computer Science Engineering MSc) may apply for internship from the second semester.

The precondition for applying to internship for 2017 September starting students:

  • Computer Science BSc
    High-level programming languages 2, Database systems, Database systems labor
  • Business Informatics BSc
    Programming 2, International financial accounting
  • Computer Science Engineering BSc
    Programming languages 2, Computer Networks
  • Computer Science MSc
    Students may apply for internship from the second semester.
  • All MSc students (Computer Science Msc and Computer Science Engineering MSc) may apply for internship from the second semester.

IMPORTANT! 
COVID-19 UPDATE

From 12th march 2020 until further notice the Faculty of Informatics is closed to students, so you need to send all your professional training documents by e-mail to the coordinator of professional practice ( ) and both to the Educational Office ( ).

Fill the Declaration of Acceptance (form to fill before the professional training) form and send it by e-mail to the coordinator of professional practice (  ) and both to the Educational Office (  ) one month prior to starting internship. The signature of the supervisor and the CEO, the company stamp, furthermore the exact name and adress of the company and its email adress are absolutely necessary.

The coordinator of professional practice will send the articles of internship and cooperation agreement to the email adress of the company. The CEO has to sign it (the signature of the supervisor and the CEO, the company stamp) and send her back.

When you fulfil the internship, you have to fill the Certification of fulfilment and write a one page report about your activities and send them by e-mail to the coordinator of professional practice (  ) and both to the Educational Office (  ). The signature of the supervisor and the CEO, and the company stamp are absolutely necessary. 

The student is obliged to send the Certification of fulfilment and the one page report to the Faculty Education Office at least 2 weeks before the state exam.

Finally you should check data of your internship in Neptun system (Studies/Field practice).

Professional Practice is not acceptable when the student disregarded the process of the professional training (made it without any aforementioned official documents).
